  • Bluebonnet has two Primary classrooms and one Elementary classroom.

  • Bluebonnet Montessori School of is nestled in three acres of live oaks in the beautiful Hill Country at 15099 Debba Drive, Lakeway, TX 78734.

  • We are serving Lakeway, Steiner Ranch, Bee Caves, Hudson Bend Spicewood and the Four Points areas.

  • Class Size for the Primary communities ( ages 3-5.5) ranges between 12 and 16 children . The Elementary community size varies between 12 and 20 children. Each community of children is guided either by two Montessori teachers or by a Montessori Teacher and a trained Teacher assistant

  • No. We offer a 9 ½ month program, synched to the Lake Travis ISD calendar that usually starts in mid-August and continues through the end of May.

  • Yes, we do! We have great respect for each child as a unique individual! The prepared environment allows for free exploration according to the unique needs and capabilities. The activities are presented in an orderly sequential way over the period of three years. Through scientific observation we provide the child with the activities to meet their own specific needs and interests in regard with the sensitive periods of development.

  • Yes,, our after school program starts at 2:30pm and ends at 4:00pm.

  • Yes, all children must be fully potty trained and able to independently use the restroom for at lease 2-3 months by the time they begin school at Bluebonnet Montessori.

  • we recommend that you contact the school 18 to 24 months prior to your child’s desired start date.

  • Call or e-mail the school to schedule a tour. Waitlist applications are available after the tour.

  • No. You may submit the online pre-admission form however; you will only be confirmed into the waiting list once the tour has been completed. We believe that it is important to first see the school and experience the environment to ensure that you’re selecting the right school and program for your child and your family.

  • The best age to enroll your child is at the age of 3 or almost 3 years old and start in the Primary class and complete a three year Primary program which includes the Kindergarten year.

  • Yes. There is no problem in enrolling your child in our Elementary Program or at any other school.

  • We offer an Early Elementary program up to 5th grade. For the best transition from Primary to the Elementary program, we recommend that children have experienced the Primary class or another Elementary Montessori program before coming to the Elementary program.

  • Bluebonnet Montessori of Lakeway is a member of the International Montessori Council.

  • In a Montessori classroom, children learn according to their own pace using hands on materials. Materials are introduced to the child systematically depending on the developmental needs of the child. The classroom is designed to promote self-discipline, responsibility and independence. There is a creative atmosphere that is relaxed with sufficient classroom structure to encourage learning.

  • Montessori classes bring children together in multi-age groups, usually spanning three age levels. Children stay with their teachers for three years. This allows teachers to develop close and long-term relationships with their students and encourages a strong sense of community among the children. In a mixed-age classroom, the younger children have the opportunity to learn by observing their older peers and the older children gain confidence by sharing their experiences. This interaction fosters independent learning and creates a stimulating classroom atmosphere.

  • The skills a child learns in a Montessori program last a lifetime. Montessori children learn to think for themselves, to trust themselves and they grow to be caring and compassionate leaders. When a child leaves the Montessori environment, they have developed concentration, inner self-discipline, social skills and a positive attitude toward learning. These acquired skills allow the child to easily adjust into a new environment. They are skills they will utilize throughout life.

    However, typically children perform better if they continue through the Elementary Montessori class because they are learning using the same methodology and the same approach as in the Primary class.

  • Yes, there are either two Montessori-certified teachers or a Montessori certified teacher and a trained assistant in every classroom.
