Bluebonnet Montessori School of Lakeway

The Bluebonnet Team of Parents

Our community would not be complete without the Team of our Parents who come together consistently throughout each school year to grow communication, collaboration, and camaraderie within the Bluebonnet Community, the Lake Travis Community and beyond.

Bluebonnet Montessori is a Community of Teachers and Parents committed to:

  • Inspire a Lifelong Love of Learning in each child!

  • Instill the universal values of peace, respect, responsibility, integrity, compassion, caring, honesty, love, and loyalty!

  • Nurture each child's imagination and desire to discover!

  • Cultivate independence, self-respect, self-confidence, and self-reliance!

  • Nurture self-awareness, world awareness, and the appreciation of cultural diversity.

  • Respect and respond to the child's inner needs: "Help me to do it by myself!"

  • Set each child up for success!

  • Celebrate the diversity in the world!

  • Strive for excellence in everything we do!

Life is filled with discovery and adventure every single day at Bluebonnet - whether the children are working at school or working for the community.

With the generous assistance of our parents, we are honored to have been able to reach out to both local and international communities in need. Here are a few of the many events and fundraisers we have enjoyed participating since 2001:

  • The Elementary community choir recorded two songs for the Lala Love Contest contest and the children learned that their beautiful singing voices have the power to change the world as people voted for their songs and donated to build a school in Tanzania. Our school community of families and friends raised $6,085.00 to help build the secondary school campus for Shepherds Jr School in Arusha, Tanzania!

  • We enjoy participating in the Coats for Kids program and have collected hundreds of coats for this wonderful annual project that collects and distributes warm winter coats to eligible children and teenagers in Central Texas.

  • Our Ambassadors for a Cure team was the top 10th team at the Race for Cure out of 1,100 registered teams and raised almost $7,000.00 for breast cancer research in the Austin area.

  • The children are always delighted to make Valentine Cards for sick children at the Dell Children's Hospital for Valentines Day.

  • We held fundraisers to help two of our teachers meet the demands of their cancer healing.

  • We were so grateful to be able to collect toys and clothing to send to children in Afghanistan.

  • The children enjoyed opening the Japanese exhibition at the Austin Children’s Museum with a concert of their favorite Japanese children's songs.

  • We have organized book signings and story time at the local library.

  • The Bluebonnet children loved spreading joy and cheer and singing International Winter Holidays songs at the Hill Country Galleria’s Winter Season festival through the years.

  • The Bluebonnet children's angelic singing voices have warmed the hearts of the elderly at The Summit with Valentine Day concerts.

  • We have helped promote and fight "Stamp Out Hunger", through the Texas Food Drive Bank, by collecting food and monetary donations for 6000 meals.

  • We have participated in various Reuse, Reduce and Recycle programs for more than 20 years.

  • Our heart shaped labyrinth Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary is a garden our community created from scratch to help the endangered Monarch Butterflies in their migration journeys. Our Monarch Butterfly sanctuary is a certified Monarch Waystation.
